Achieving excellence for people in prison in a changing and impoverished climate
21 October 2022
Doughty Street Chambers, London
In recent years, prison lawyers have had to grapple with a host of changes that have made representing clients in prison complicated and challenging.
The Association of Prison Lawyers brings together speakers from Probation, the Parole Board, the Legal Aid Agency, the third sector and lawyers to discuss latest developments in policy, practice and case law to support and equip lawyers working with people in prison to achieve the best possible representation in this changing and impoverished climate.
Speakers include:
- Jude Bunting KC, Doughty Street Chambers
- Caroline Corby, Chair of the Parole Board
- Simon Creighton, Bhatt Murphy
- Matthew Doddridge, Prison Law lead, Legal Aid Agency
- Martin Jones, Chief Executive of the Parole Board
- Chris Minnoch, Director, Legal Aid Practitioners’ Group
- Sara Robinson, Probation Director of the National Security Division, Probation Service
The conference will include opportunities for practitioners to ask questions and share ideas about how to achieve excellence for clients and make prison law sustainable.
